About Our Company
A family owned business Luftenburg’s Bridal has been on the downtown Fulton Mall in Fresno for 71 years. Our back wall overlooks the baseball stadium Chukchansi Park. Bennett McCutchen's grandmother started the family business as a lingerie store in 1941 the day after Pearl Harbor was attacked. The company later became known as Neal's Silk Shop and fabric store.
The McCutchens son Bennett and wife Vivian started the bridal portion of the store in 1964 and have run it ever since. In recent years the McCutchens were juggling the large bridal shop with the large wedding trade show they hold in Las Vegas that features 800 lines of dresses.
In February 2008 the McCutchens sold the business to a former employee Delores Sulenta and her husband Walter. Delores and Walter have been friends of the McCutchens since 1972 when Luftenburg’s Bridal did their wedding 40 years ago.
Luftenburg’s started in the basement of the fabric store just a few doors down from where they are now. Delores had been working for the McCutchens 28 years ago. They were growing rapidly and soon needed to expand to a larger building once known as Walter Smith.
Come by, visit, and meet the new owners at the same location. We’ve been sprucing up the store by painting, adding more color, and updating some displays in the store.
